You will not be able to print to a Ricoh Printer unless you have the new Deakin-Print print queue installed.

To install Papercut on a Personal Windows PC, please see this article.

The Papercut Print Service is deployed to all Deakin Managed computers automatically (Windows and Mac).

If when printing from an application you are unable to see the Deakin-Print queue then you can install this manually yourself.

Before using these instructions, ensure you are connected to the Deakin network either via network cable or the Eduroam Wireless network. If you are not on a Deakin campus, establish a secure connection to the Deakin network using Deakin VPN.

Send the document to the print queue

  1. Select Print from your document or application
  2. Select the Deakin-Print.
  3. Select the print configuration you require (e.g. paper size, double or single-sided, colour or black and white)
  4. Select Print

Release the document(s) at the printer

  1. Tap your Deakin Card in the card reader or enter your Deakin username and password manually using the keypad on the printer.

  2. If you have print jobs in the queue they will display on the screen and can be released individually or by selecting Print all

Print jobs will remain in the queue for up to 16 hours.

To maintain a secure printing environment, you will automatically be logged out of the printer if it has been left inactive for one minute. To log out manually press the Log out button on the printer.

If you tap, and it is not logging you on, there are two likelihood:

1. Your Deakin Card does not have the tap feature (generally cards over 2-3 years old do not have the feature). Please go to Student Central to get a new card issued.
2. The printer's card reader is not working. Log a ticket to Service Desk via the portal, or call on 1800 463 888.
