You will not be able to print to a Ricoh Multi Function Device unless the PaperCut Service is installed and running on your computer.

To install Papercut on a Non-Deakin managed PC, please see this article.

Launch PaperCut

By default, PaperCut should be open on a public Deakin machine. If it isn't open however, follow the instructions below.

Click the Windows button > All Programs > Papercut MF Client folder > Papercut MF Client.

This should open a window in the top-right corner of your machine with your current Deakin Card balance.

To top up your Deakin Card, please read follow this link.

Send the document to the print queue

  1. Select Print from your document or application

  2. Select the Deakin print queue based on your campus location:
    • Deakin_Geelong_Printer
    • Deakin_Burwood_Printer
    • Deakin_Warrnambool_Printer

All queues can be used at all locations. However, print jobs will be processed and released quicker if you are using the queue for your current or nearest campus

  3. Select the print configuration you require (e.g. paper size, double or single-sided, colour or black and white)

  4. Select Print - a print job notification dialogue box should appear confirming the print options selected and charge to yourself or Faculty account
Some staff may be prompted to select an account code. This happens when your salary is allocated to multiple account codes or when you hold multiple positions within the University.

Release the document(s) at the printer

  1. Swipe your Deakin Card in the card reader or enter your Deakin username and password manually using the keypad on the printer

  2. If you have print jobs in the queue they will display on the screen and can be released individually or by selecting Print all

Print jobs will remain in the queue for up to 16 hours.

To maintain a secure printing environment, you will automatically be logged out of the printer if it has been left inactive for three minutes. To log out manually press the Log out button on the printer.
