Exam and assessments - Student Guide

This guide will walk students through troubleshooting some common issues relating to their exams and assessments.

If you have experienced technical difficulties that cannot be resolved in the time available for you to complete the task, please complete and submit the Report technical difficulties for the Exams & Final Assessment tasks form. 

Note: The form mentioned above is not available for use outside of standard exam periods. Please contact the IT Service Desk for a reference number if you are experiencing technical issues outside exam periods.

CloudDeakin - Quizzes and Exams 

Unable to save quiz answers, or the page is frozen

Duplicate the tab on your web browser as per the following link.

Unable to view the exam

Check the time zone you are located in and cross-check the time in Melbourne, Sydney or Canberra.

Quiz is saved, but did not click on submit

Responses are auto-saved, your Faculty will submit them in bulk. No further action is required.

Submitted final assessment and it is appearing as late

Apply for Special Consideration, report using the following web form.

Exam submission time has passed and unable to submit the exam

Proctorio Exams

Edge is the preferred browser for Proctorio Exams. For Windows machines, Edge is preinstalled. For Mac OS, please check the following article to download the correct instance of Edge.

 

Proctorio Support can be contacted via Live-Chat for assistance from the exam window.

Webcam is not working

Ensure camera access is allowed. Test with different applications like the Camera app. If you are still experiencing issues, please refer to the following:

Microphone check fails

Voice input is required to pass the microphone check. If you are still experiencing issues, see the following:

Can't pass the desktop check, or unable to select which screen to share

Troubleshoot as per the following link:

Note: If your screen resolution is set to other than 'Recommended', you may not be able to see option to share your screen or start the assessment.

Cannot scan my ID card

Click on click on the Take the picture manually link. For further information, refer to the troubleshooting video.

Cannot take your own picture

Ensure there is enough lighting and remove glasses if there is a glare. You may also need to reduce the background light if too bright. For further information, refer to the troubleshooting video.

Cleared authentication steps, unable to start the exam

Ensure your screen resolution is set to recommended.

Accidentally clicked stop sharing and was logged out of the exam

Log back in to the exam and resume, note that you may be required to go through the authentication steps again.

Receiving a warning about pop-up blocker

You may proceed into the exam with the pop-up blocker on.

Receiving a prompt for a password

Disable and re-enable the proctorio extension and allow at least 2 minutes. If the issue persists remove and re-add the extension. For more information, refer to the guide below:

CAANZ Exams (Charted Accountants Supervised Online Exams)

CAANZ Exams are now completed using Integrity Advocate, not Proctorio. For further information, please see below:

 

Google Chrome is the preferred browser for Integrity Advocate based exams. To download Chrome, please visit the Chrome website.

How do I access the CAANZ exams portal?

CAANZ exams can be accessed from the following portal.

What is the difference between CAFF and CAFE?

CAFF is the unit site, CAFE is the exam site. For example, CAFF1 is the unit site, but CAFE1 is the corresponding exam site. On CloudDeakin, there will be two units listed under the waffle icon, CAFF and CAFE. To sit the exam go to CAFE, for exam information go to CAFF.

How do I apply for special consideration?

Where do I see my results?

Login to the portal, and navigate to Exam > Grades.
