Using folders to organise passwords

To request a new shared vault for your business area, please complete the 'New Vault Request' Form.

Use LastPass to generate a secure password

You can use LastPass to generate a highly secure password for you. Please refer to this LastPass guide for further information.

Log in to a website using a password saved in LastPass

Once a password is saved in LastPass, it will automatically fill in your saved username and password for most websites.
Alternatively, you may need to click the prompt in the username/password field on the far right side, which will reveal the accounts stored by LastPass.

How to share passwords with other LastPass users

Passwords can be shared with your colleagues and other LastPass users using a one-time share.

If you need to share passwords on a regular basis within your team, complete the New Vault Request Form.

How to migrate personal data before leaving an organization

Due to security reasons, Deakin has disabled the option to export LastPass data. However, you can migrate your personal data by completing the following steps.

• Link your personal LastPass account with Deakin LastPass enterprise. To link the two, follow this guide.
• Move personal credential/notes from the enterprise LastPass to your personal LastPass account.
• Once the data is migrated unlink your account personal LastPass account as seen here.
  
  

Best Practice

• Audit your passwords regularly by utilising the Security Dashboard under More Options in the LastPass Extension Menu and update your old passwords frequently.
• Install the LastPass app on your mobile device so you have secure access to your password-protected logins on the go. Just search for LastPass Password Manager in your mobile app store.
