How to Unsubscribe from a ServiceNow notification

There are two ways for a user to unsubscribe from a ServiceNow email notification:

From an email notification that contains an 'Unsubscribe' link

  1. Open an email that you received for the specific notification that you wish to unsubscribe from (for example 'Incident assigned to me').

  2. Click on the Unsubscribe link located at the bottom of the email.

  3. A predefined email reply will open, do not modify the contents - click Send.

In this example, we will unsubscribe from the Incident assigned to me notification.

  1. You can access your notifications settings via the cog-wheel (Settings) button at the top of the ServiceNow page, which will open Settings.

    From here, navigate to 'Notifications'; this menu allows you to customise as you require. Otherwise, follow the instructions as follows.



  2. Select 'Notifications Preferences' in the email bottom bar. This will open ServiceNow.

    To unsubscribe from ServiceNow ESM emails, navigate to and click the 'Notifications Preferences' button in the bottom bar of the email

  3. In the Notifications Settings menu that opens, click the toggle located next to Primary email to turn the notification off (unsubscribe).

 

How to Resubscribe to a ServiceNow notification

In this example, we will resubscribe to the Incident assigned to me notification.

  1. Log in to ServiceNow.

  2. Click on the Settings (Cog) icon located in the top right corner.

  3. Click on Notifications.

  4. Scroll down to listed categories under Notifications by Category.

  5. Click on the Incident category.

  6. Click on the Incident assigned to me notification.

  7. Click on the switch located next to primary_email to turn the notification on (resubscribe).
