In an effort to improve cybersecurity and protect the information of our staff and students at Deakin, Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) is in place when accessing Deakin applications. This is done by using the Duo Mobile App.

Follow the instructions to install Duo onto your smartphone, and set up MFA.

Installation Instructions

It is very important that you do not download any programs attempting to impersonate Duo Security, Inc., or Duo Mobile as a product. If you are unsure which app to download, please contact the IT Service Desk.

Download the latest version of Duo Mobile via Google Play, or the App Store.

If your mobile phone is not able to support Duo then please call the IT Service Desk on 1800 463 888 so we can provide you with an alternate MFA method.

If you encounter an error message labelled Bad Message 431, when trying to setup MFA, please clear your browsing data by following the instructions in the article.

Setup Instructions

  1. Download the "DUO Mobile" app onto your device from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

If you're unable to scan the QR code, please read the following article: Activate Duo Mobile via activation link
