File sharing

Apps and Desktops Anywhere will connect to your OneDrive account so you can access your OneDrive files from the Open and Save dialogs of hosted apps. See: Using OneDrive in Apps and Desktops Anywhere. Your legacy H:\ drive is no longer connected in Apps and Desktops Anywhere.

Using folder redirection, you can also access files stored on your own computer from hosted apps.

Windows App automatically shares your local computer's drive and any other connected drives into the remote apps. The design of Open and Save dialogs can vary depending on the developer, but your redirected folders will typically appear in the This PC view in "Redirected drives and folders".

Your C:\ drive will appear as "C on [your computer name]". Other drives will appear similarly.

If you cannot install Microsoft Windows App

Installing Microsoft Windows App provides the best experience and integration with your computer. However, there may be occasions when you cannot install it, such as when borrowing a computer on which you do not have admin access.

In these cases, you can use the Microsoft Windows App web client, which operates entirely within your browser.
