Duo Mobile (MFA) – Tablet Registration

Occasionally your mobile device may not be able to register with Duo as a mobile phone or may tell you that it simply cannot be added.

There are a number of reasons why you would be receiving the error, the most common scenarios are:

Setup Instructions

  1. Log on to mfa.signon.deakin.edu.au.
  2. Enter your Deakin Credential.


  3. Click Next

  4. Click Next


  5. Select DUO mobile

  6.  Select "I have a tablet"

  7. Download the DUO Mobile app on your mobile device and click Next

  8. Scan the QR Code from your DUO app

  9. Once you scan MFA will be added to your DUO mobile, click Continue

  10. Click "Skip for now"

  11. DUO MFA has been successfully set up on your device using tablet options

  12. Optional Step: Edit the DUO-Protected profile on the Duo app and give it a nickname—for example Staff Account and Student Account.
