This guide shows you how to pair a hardware token for use with Microsoft Authenticator (Deakin MFA). 

Hardware tokens are only available to staff and students with special needs and requires approval before they are issued.

1. Visit and login to https://www.deakin.edu.au/mfa-setup
   
   
2.  Click the "Add sign-in methods"
   
   
   
3.  Select Hardware token
   
   
   
   
4. Click "Next"
   
   
   
   
   
5. Enter the serial number from your hardware token and click Next
   
   
   
   The serial number is located on the back of the device. See example below
   
   
   
   
   
6. On the front of the device press the button to show a code and enter it on the screen shown below
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
7. If the code was correct you will see
   
   
8. Optional: Make sure the hardware token is set as default. Click the "Change" link next to the default sign-in method.
   
   
   
   
   
9.  Select "App based authentication or hardware token - code" and click confirm.
