This article has been created to describe the general process used by Faculty and divisional staff at Deakin University to upload and manage content on Deakin's enterprise digital signage solution - OneLAN CMS (Content Management System).
Note: This article is not intended to replace the OneLAN CMS user manual. This can be accessed on the CMS under the "Help" menu.
Deakin University provides its Enterprise Digital Signage solution via ONELAN’s Content Management System (CMS). It will provide the following:
Bookmark the following URL to access the ONELAN CMS: onelan.deakin.edu.au
When prompted for your username and password, enter your Deakin username and current password. Your user permissions and access in the CMS are controlled via Active Directory Groups (via IAMS) that are linked to roles in the CMS.
After successfully logging in, dependant on your permissions you may see the Home Page.

1. To navigate to your list of channels, select Channels from the side menu.
Note: Only Channels with your role has permission for will appear in the list.
2. Displayed channels can be filtered at the top of the page.
3. Click on a zone within a layout to go directly to its playlist.

The Actions beside each Channel allow you to.

Content for display on digital signage is created outside of the CMS, using software applications like Adobe Photoshop. To ensure compliance of content and pre approved layout, styled templates and stock content we highly recommend using the Outfit tool.
Traing on outfit can be provided by the Student Communications Team.

Once created, the content can be uploaded and managed in the CMS by authorized user’s within Faculty, School, Division or work unit.
To upload content, Navigate to your required playlist (As per Figure 3 – step 3)

There is also the concept of Time Validity and Conditional Play to consider.
There is a specific "view" for editing these parameters and you can navigate to them with the "Contitional Play View" and "Time Validity View" Buttons.

These concepts can be explained in detail with personal training or upon enquiry.
Select Channel from the Sidebar menu:

The Manage Channel page is displayed.
You will see the notice the warning suggesting that the channel has been changed and requires publishing.

From the Actions Menu select the desired action:
