Connecting to Wi-Fi (eduroam) on Windows 10

Note: Deakin computers are pre-configured with eduroam wireless access, this article is for non-Deakin computers only.

Connecting to Eduroam using Deakin Setup

  1. Select the Wi-Fi icon in the taskbar.

  2. Ensure wi-fi is on.

  3. Select 'Deakin Setup'.

  4. Uncheck the Connect automatically box, select then 'Connect'.

  5. Go to deakin.edu.au (if it doesn't automatically happen) and select 'JoinNow'.

  6. Download and run the file as prompted.

  7. If prompted by SmartScreen, click 'Run anyway'.

  8. Select 'Yes' when prompted by User Account Control.

  9. Type your Deakin Username and Deakin Password.

  10. Select 'Next'.



  11. Click Done when the configuration process has finished.

Whenever you return to a Deakin campus, your device will automatically connect to the Eduroam wireless network.

Note:  If you are having trouble connecting to eduroam by following the steps above please follow the instructions below to connect using eduroam.

 

Connecting to Eduroam

  1. Select Wi-Fi and connect to eduroam

  2. Enter your username@deakin.edu.au

  3. Enter your password

Connecting to Eduroam on Windows 10 - Off Campus

If you trying to connect to Eduroam from a different University, or unable to connect to Eduroam directly, please follow these steps;

  1. Turn on your Mobile Hotspot 

  2. Connect your Windows 10 Device to your Mobile Hotspot

  3. After connecting to your mobile hotspot, on your Windows 10 device, navigate to www.deakin.edu.au/deakinsetup

  4. You should now be presented with below. You can now continue to follow the steps above from step 6 of Connecting to Eduroam using Deakin Setup

Can't connect to Eduroam?

You can try to remove/forget the existing eduroam setup on your device, then complete the Eduroam setup again.
