Introduction
This guide has detailed instructions on how to download a custom font from Google Fonts, and how to install it to use in Microsoft Word on Windows.
Downloading the font
- Visit the Google Fonts website.
- Search for the font you would like to use and select the 'Get Font' button.

3. Select the 'Download all' button.

4. This will download a .zip file. Right-click on the downloaded folder and select 'Extract All' then 'Extract' to unzip.

Installing the font
- Inside the folder, look for files with extensions like .ttf (TrueType Font) or .otf (OpenType Font). Both font types are OK to use.
- Right-click the required .ttf or .otf file and select 'Install'.

After installing, the font becomes available system-wide, including in Microsoft Word.
Using the font in Microsoft Word
- Open Microsoft Word.

- From the 'Home' Menu, navigate to the Font dropdown menu.
- Type the font name into the font selector or scroll to find the newly installed font.
- Select the font and start typing!
