With Deakin Desktop for Windows, you no longer use your short Deakin username (e.g. jdoe) to log into managed Windows computers. Instead, your Windows account name is based on your primary email address.
If your primary email address is an @deakin.edu.au address, you use the first part of your email address, without the @deakin.edu.au suffix. There are a few different examples of how your primary email address may be constructed:
- First name . Last name i.e. Jane.Doe
- First letter of First name . Last Name i.e. J.Doe
- First name . First letter of Last name i.e. Jane.D
If your primary email address is an @deakinco.com address, you must enter your full email address, including the @deakinco.com suffix.
- Enter your email-based account name.
- @deakin.edu.au : just the part before "@deakin.edu.au." e.g. jane.doe
- @deakinco.com : enter your full email. e.g. jane.doe@deakinco.com
- Enter your password.
