If you're having trouble connecting to eduroam on a personal mac in the first instance, please refer to the troubleshooting steps below:
Forget Eduroam network
Please note, that this process differs slightly depending on if you are using MacOS Ventura and above
For MacOS Monterey (MacOS Version 12) and below:
- Navigate to Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Network.
- Select Wi-Fi in the list on the left.

- Click the Advanced button.
- The Wi-Fi pane shows a Preferred Networks list. Select the Wi-Fi network that you want your Mac to forget.

- Click the remove button (–) beneath the list. If you're asked to confirm, click Remove.
- Click OK.
- Click Apply.
For MacOS Ventura (MacOS Version 13) and above:
- Navigate to Apple menu > System Settings, then click Network.
- Select Wi-Fi in the list on the right, and click Details

- Click Forget this Network on the next page

- Click Remove on the next page

Remove eduroam profile
- Open System Preferences.
- Open Profiles.
- Select the eduroam profile and select the (minus) button in the bottom left corner.

- Enter your Mac password if prompted.
Delete Keychain entries
For more information on removing Keychain, please refer to the following guide.

- Select Spotlight (Magnifying Glass in the top right corner of the screen), enter Keychain Access and press Enter (Return).

- On the left side of the window, select the login Keychain and the All items Category.

- Delete any listed items mentioning "eduroam" (e.g. eduroam.deakin.edu.au certificate and eduroam 802.1X Password).

- Enter your Mac password if prompted.

Removing custom DNS settings
To remove any custom DNS settings on your macOS device, please do the following:
- Choose the Apple Menu
- Click on System Settings
- Click on Network on the left-hand sidebar, and then select Wi-Fi on the right-hand sidebar

- Click on Details on the right side of the affected Wi-Fi network (if you're on-campus this would be Eduroam, if you're off-campus this would be your home network)

- Click on the DNS on the left-hand sidebar, and on the right-hand side you can see all the DNS settings. Using the minus (-) button, remove any custom entries.
