You can install Deakin's Managed Print Service, Papercut, on your Apple IOS Personal Device using the following instructions.
You will not be able to print to a Ricoh Printer unless you have the new Deakin-Print print queue installed.
Only use these instructions if you wish to print at Deakin from a Apple IOS Personal Device not managed by Deakin Uni.
Before using these instructions, ensure you are connected to the Deakin network either via network cable or the Eduroam Wireless network. If you are not on a Deakin campus, establish a secure connection to the Deakin network using Deakin VPN.
1. When you click 'Download' you will be prompted with the following screen, click 'Continue'.
2. Please click 'Allow' as this will install the configuration profile that allows printing on your iPhone.
3. Click 'Close' and then 'Done', then go back to your home screen and open the 'Settings'
4. Scroll down to 'General'
5. Select 'VPN & Device Management'
6. Select the profile 'Papercut Mobility for iOS' > then click 'Install' in the top right corner.
7. Enter your passcode for your iPhone if prompted
8. Click 'Install' once more, your device is now configured to use Deakin-Print.
Print jobs will remain in the queue for up to 16 hours.
To maintain a secure printing environment, you will automatically be logged out of the printer if it has been left inactive for one minute. To log out manually press the Log out button on the printer.
If you tap, and it is not logging you on, there are two possibilities:
1. Your Deakin Card does not have the tap feature (generally cards over 2-3 years old do not have the feature). Please go to Student Central to get a new card issued.
2. The printer's card reader is not working. Log a ticket to Service Desk via the portal, or call on 1800 463 888.
If at any point, your device cannot see print services, find print servers or install it, check if your device has Private DNS turned on. You can check it by going to Settings > Wi-Fi > Configure DNS. If it is not set to Automatic for Eduroam while you are on campus or the wifi network you are on, you can turn it OFF so the installation can find the print server and repeat this step to turn it back on after installation.
